The first season of “Game of Thrones” certainly will make you laugh. The show’s dialogue is quite convoluted, and the many obscenities can be heard easily, especially with the volume of the television set turned up as high as it can go. This “Game of Thrones” is not for “good” television. But it is certainly for entertainment. To that, it succeeds!

Season 1 of “Game of Thrones” opens with a teaser, a young girl learning how to fight with a sword. The words “Winter is coming,” are written on a wall, and the sword the girl is learning to use is a large one. The camera zooms in on the girl’s face as she looks at the wall, and that’s when the voiceover begins.

The real star of Season 1 of “Game of Thrones” is Dany (“Seven Kingdoms,” the role is played by the gorgeous Emilia Clarke, the breakout star of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”). Dany is a strong female figure, a mother, a queen. She is the person who drives the plot forward in “Game of Thrones.”

The story is basically a story of a family: Dany and her husband, Khal Drogo (“Dancing With the Stars” winner, champ in “Cinema China,” Nain Khan, of course), their son and heir, and those characters who help them with their family and the lands of their people...

The visual style of the show is distinctive. The “Game of Thrones” look is a beautiful mix of the medieval setting, and, much more obviously, the fantasy elements. This is not a western, as “Game of Thrones” is not a western, or a historical drama. It is a fantasy-adventure-western. The visual style and the unique look of the world of “Game of Thrones” are original.
